Meaning Behind the Piece
City in the Artist -
Heart = My heart
Things inside the heart (Miller Park, streets, Domes etc.) = Milwaukee
Chains = Everything in this pieces is tied to me
Bubble = Thoughts
Colorful shapes inside the bubble = My heart saying out loud "Memories" in other words
Artist -
Self-Portrait = Artist
With this panel I basically wanted to portray how having a "good body" torments me. I've never been skinny in my life, which is something that I fight myself with since I can never have the "ideal body" I want. The numbers above the self-portrait demonstrate weight and heights. I'm squishing my body to make is as little as possible in this painting, representing how I really want to fit in with being skinny.
Artist in the City -
Buildings = My community
Road with footprints = The marks I've left in my city while walking all this time in it
Bubble with hand marks = How I completely marked my whole world
I made this piece as colorful as possible because for me life is filled of colors no matter how hard life can get at times.

Reflection
I must admit I had a lot of fun planning this project and creating it. Creating projects that involve myself to the fullest are the best. With this project I actually learned something new about myself. In order to create this piece I had to think of a series of questions in order for me to exactly know what to add to each canvas. The questions got something out of me that I had not thought about. For example one of the panels that got me thinking more was the middle one, Artist, it was difficult in thinking how I could portray my real self as. Thinking how I influence my world was difficult as well. On the contrary, I learned new things about myself and that is what I take with me the most from this project. If I could change things it would be the shade of the self-portrait. I believe it can be created to look more realistic. Blending skin color would be something I would definetly change and work on. Overall it was a project that sprouted many new things about myself.
Struggles : Coming up with a final sketch as a whole
Failures : Skin color mixture
Successes : Portraying something with out having to use words
